Passport and Visa
Thank you for your interest in applying to the Swiss School Beijing, a section of the Western Academy of Beijing (WAB).
In accordance with relevant regulations and policies of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, only students with foreign passports with a valid resident or diplomatic visa sponsored through the parent’s employer can enrol in the Swiss School Beijing. In other words, the Swiss School Beijing can only grant admission to the following students:
- - Foreign students: students who hold a foreign passport and ‘W’ visa or a dependent residency permit, and who have at least one parent who is a foreign passport holder with a ‘W’ visa or working related residency permit issued in Beijing.
- - Students from Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan: both parents and students should hold passports of Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan, and travel permits for mainland China. At least one parent must have a “working certificate” issued in Beijing.
The Swiss School Beijing and WAB reserve the right to final interpretation of the above provisions.

Students applying for admission at the start of a new school year are encouraged to do so before 30th of April. Places will continue to be offered after 30th of April, right up to the start of the school year, but the later an application for admission is submitted, the more likely it is to be waitlisted.
We understand that families may relocate to Beijing throughout the school year and we therefore do admit students during the school year, depending on availability of space. If we are unable to offer spaces at the desired start date, we encourage parents to keep in touch with the School if they wish to re-apply for either the next semester or next school year.

Tuition Fees and Discounts
The tuition fees of the Swiss School Beijing will be similar to those of the Western Academy of Beijing, but reduced by the amount that the School receives in financial support from the Swiss government.

Fees listed above are in RMB (Chinese Yuan) and subject to change.
Fees include tuition fees (this comprises all required textbooks and school supplies such as notebooks, pens and pencils), as well as transportation and after-school activities.
Families applying to WAB are required to pay an application fee of 2,100 RMB or 330 USD per applicant. This fee is neither refundable nor transferable, regardless of the admission outcome.
The basic tuition fee is used to cover the capital expenditure and development needs of the school, including those for educational supplies, equipment, and any facilities-related upgrades and replacement.
Tuition Fee Discount
In adherence with the Swiss “Federal law for the provision of Swiss education abroad” (SSchG), the School also has a Tuition Fee Discount Policy for Swiss families.
