In August 2017, the Swiss School Beijing opened its doors as the German language section of the Western Academy Beijing.

The Swiss School Beijing is recognized by the Swiss government within the framework of the Swiss “Federal law for the provision of Swiss education abroad” (SSchG). The school currently offers Kindergarten (for 3 to 5 -year old children) as well as Primary 1 to 4 classes. The Primary 5 class will be added in the school year 2023/2024 and the Primary 6 class one year later.
Linda Ninio is the Principal of the Swiss School Beijing for the school year 2023-2024. She is a graduate from the Zurich University of Teacher Education (Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich) and worked as a primary school teacher in various schools in Switzerland, prior to joining the Swiss School Beijing as a teacher in 2020. In addition to her responsibilities as the school’s Principal, Linda also teaches part-time in the school. Linda is fluent in German, French and English.
Association Swiss School Beijing
Each parent and/or guardian of a student of the Swiss School Beijing automatically becomes a member of the Association, for the duration of the enrolment of their child or children at the Swiss School Beijing.

Partnership with Western Academy Beijing
Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) is a leading international school in Beijing, with a long tradition of providing Mother Tongue Language Programs. Thanks to the partnership between WAB and the Association Swiss School Beijing, students of WAB can choose to follow a German-language Swiss curriculum, while benefiting from the multicultural environment, friendly atmosphere and excellent facilities of WAB.
The Swiss School Beijing is the youngest of 18 Swiss Schools Abroad that are recognised by the Swiss government. Each one of these schools is linked to a Swiss canton (the “Patronatskanton”) who supports the school with curriculum development, recruitment of teachers, professional development of teachers and quality assurance. The Canton of Zürich is the Patronatskanton of the Swiss School Beijing.
